During the morning Worship Service on Sunday, December 9, 2007, our Church was honored by the Baptism of Bill Nelson, an 81 year old WWII Veteran with Native American Heritage. Bill was drawn to our F.A.I.T.H Riders Sunday School Class by his daughter and son-in-law who ride with us.  Our Church Congregation (~1400) responded to Bill’s Baptism with a standing ovation.  This is the first time in my 50+ years of ministry that I have witnessed a standing ovation following a baptism. Praise GOD !!

Baptism of Bill Nelson – Newest F.A.I.T.H Rider

During the month of November, we collected Christmas toys by a:  1) Toy Run,  2) collection through our F.A.I.T.H Riders Sunday School Class, and  3) collection from our church congregation at large. A motorcycle placed in the vestibule of our church during the entire month of November served as a reminder for toy contributions and the center for toy drop off.  Several hundred toys were donated and then distributed to needy families in our community at Christmas. People are gracious!

On Friday December 14 and Saturday December 15, our FAITH Riders partnered with our Heart Beat Benevolence Ministry and distributed Christmas toys to needy families.   A few weeks prior to the distribution, parents were required to make a written request for the toys, were interviewed and approved by our Heart Beat Ministry Team.  A Toy Store was set up at our Heart Beat Ministry with toys being separated by gender and age. Parents came in without children at an appointed time and were allowed to shop for toys. Each parent was escorted thru the Toy Store by a F.A.I.T.H Rider, and we offered up a Christmas blessing in prayer for each family at the conclusion of the shopping trip. In all, we were able to provide toys for 52 family units for a total of 105 children. We were able to provide 10 Christmas items (toys, books, balls, stuffed animals, stocking stuffers, etc) for each child.  We all have been blessed!!

Marshall – A FAITH Rider Christmas Adoption

For Christmas, our chapter adopted Marshall, a resident at a local home for needy men. Marshall is a prior biker who was involved in an altercation a few years back which resulted in a restricted lifestyle.

On Saturday December 15, we showered Marshall with several Christmas gifts including:  a DVD player, the DVD “Wild Hogs”, four T shirts (donated by Boswell’s Harley Davidson), and a Harley Davidson Jacket. Marshall has no family. We were privileged to be able to make Marshall ’s life a little bit brighter this Christmas. Marshall was very pleased with the generosity shown him.
